Dr. Dana Hartley receives the 2016 Outstanding Undergraduate Academic Advising Award
Congratulations to Dr. Dana Hartley for receiving the 2016 Outstanding Undergraduate Academic Advising Award.
Dr. Hartley’s commitment to the students on campus was evident in her nomination materials. Her leadership includes advising undergraduate students and helping them navigate their way through Ga Tech. Many letters of support pointed out her approachability and genuine concern for students in and outside the EAS major. Dr. Hartley also works with FirstGen students on campus and advocating on behalf of the homeless student population across the state. Her contribution in this area has served two valuable purposes: assisting students whose circumstances would otherwise interfere with their success and educating faculty and staff whose understanding of the Georgia Tech student population would otherwise remain inaccurate.
This award is to recognize a staff or faculty member whose primary role is to advise undergraduates. The faculty award is to recognize a faculty member who has significant responsibilities in advising undergraduates and in teaching and/or research.
