EAS Field Methods in Volcanic Terrains class visits Mexico

04/21/2016

The Field Methods in Volcanic Terrains class recently visited central Mexico to examine the products of past eruptions from the trans-Mexican volcanic belt and their interaction with local populations. Student led projects included satellite remote sensing ground-truthing, deciphering deposits for clues to the energy of explosive events, and examining the interaction of pyroclastic density currents and the landscape.
