The Ocean Discovery Zone visits Cowan Road Middle School
In a follow-up from our news story “Faculty Member Annalisa Bracco & Students in K-12 Outreach” on 10/14/2016, we now have pictures and video from the Ocean Discovery Zone’s visit with Cowan Road Middle School, Griffin GA.
Dr. Annalisa Bracco (GA Tech) and her students from the School of Earth and Atmospheric Sciences at Georgia Tech; Sabrina Grossman, Marion Usselman, and Will Jimerson from CEISMC; and Emily Davenport (ECOGIG outreach staff) brought the Ocean Discovery Zone exhibit booth to 7th grade students at Cowan Road Middle School, in Griffin, GA on Thursday October 20th, 2016.
Dr. Annalisa Bracco has been at Georgia Tech since 2007. She has published over 50 papers and has had over $3 million in research proposals funded since arriving at Tech. Her research interests are at the interface between ocean sciences, geophysical fluid dynamics, and climate. She received her Ph.D degree in Geophysics and Oceanography at the University of Genoa in 2000 and then completed two years of postdoctoral research at the Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution and has won the American Meterological Society’s Nicholas P Fofonoff Award in 2011.”
