Astrobiology Graduate Certificate

Program Overview

The Astrobiology Graduate Certificate Program is part of an initiative linking the schools of Earth and Atmospheric Sciences, Chemistry and Biochemistry, Biological Sciences, Aerospace Engineering, and International Affairs. 

The purpose of the certificate program is to expand opportunities for students in the interdisciplinary field of ‘astrobiology’, and to forge innovative links between astrobiology research at Georgia Tech, mission technology, and science communication.

The 12-credit certificate program is open to graduate students enrolled in any degree program at the Georgia Institute of Technology. There are no prerequisites for entering the certificate program.

Requirements 

  • Students must complete;:
    • 2 required core courses
    • 1 cognate course
    • 1 special topics course; and,
    • 1 mission design course
  • All coursework must be completed with a grade of B or higher.
