About
The Georgia Tech BS/MS programs allow highly motivated students with strong academic records to earn both a Bachelor of Science in ENVS, SEP, or AOS and a non-thesis Master of Science in the same field in just one additional year.
In the BS/MS program, students deepen their expertise in a specialized area, strengthen their qualifications for advanced roles or career paths, and enhance their competitiveness for higher earning potential and/or admission to PhD and professional programs.
Program Requirements
- To apply to the program, students must have at least 90 credit hours with an undergraduate GPA of 3.0 or higher.
- Minimum GPA for graduation with the MS is 2.70.
How to Apply
Students apply the semester they are graduating with their BS degree.
Deadlines:
- Spring semester (start) - October 1
- Fall semester (start) - April 1
Apply via Graduate Admission Application (gatech.edu) and select the BS/MS in degree. There is no application fee.
Program of Study
Years 1-4: Completion of at least 122 credit hours for the BS degree, including 6 credit hours of approved coursework (4000-level or higher; not seminar or research credit) in EAS courses that will be counted towards both the BS degree and MS degree (courses from other departments (e.g. CP, PUBP, CHEM, etc.) may count, with approval from EAS advisors).
Year 5: Completion of at least 24 additional credit hours for the MS degree. With the shared six credits hours completed during BS degree, these additional at least 12 hours of EAS course credit hours (graded) at 6000-level or above, at least 6 hours of elective credit hours in major area at 4000-level or above, at least 9 hours of elective course credits hours at 6000-level or above, and at least 3 hours of EAS 8901 (Special Problems), as summarized in the table below:
