Claire Riggs
Claire Riggs is a fourth-year Environmental Science major with a minor in Spanish, interested in biogeochemistry and environmental toxicology. She is a part of Dr. Jennifer Bowen’s Aquatic Biogeochemistry Lab and received the Rutt Bridges Fellowship Funding to spend the summer in Fairbanks, Alaska, studying carbon dioxide and methane fluxes from standing water in boreal peatlands. This past December, she interned for the Buffalo Field Campaign, a bison conservation non-profit in West Yellowstone, where she conducted field patrols to observe and collect data on migrating bison populations. In her free time, she enjoys reading, hiking, swimming, and taking care of her pet cat.
