Orbital Scale Variability of the South Asian Monsoon 

The orbital-scale timing of the South Asian summer monsoon precipitation is still not fully understood. In this talk, I will compare and contrast published speleothem and marine sediment based monsoon precipitation/intensity reconstructions from the South Asian and East Asian monsoon domains. I will conclude by highlighting differences between the South Asian and East Asian summer monsoons and the importance of internal processes forcing monsoon variability.
