Rutt Bridges Award
No deadline – applications accepted at any time
This award grants up to $5,000 to an ENVS/AOS/SEP/EAS major participating in undergraduate research with a faculty mentor.
ENVS/AOS/SEP/EAS majors currently working on undergraduate research with an EAS faculty member or interested in starting undergraduate research with an EAS faculty member are strongly encouraged to apply.
BS/MS Programs in Atmospheric & Oceanic Sciences (AOS), Environmental Sciences (ENVS), and Solid Earth & Planetary Sciences (SEP)
About
The Georgia Tech BS/MS programs allow highly motivated students with strong academic records to earn both a Bachelor of Science in ENVS, SEP, or AOS and a non-thesis Master of Science in the same field in just one additional year.
In the BS/MS program, students deepen their expertise in a specialized area, strengthen their qualifications for advanced roles or career paths, and enhance their competitiveness for higher earning potential and/or admission to PhD and professional programs.

Eager to get a headstart on your career? Looking for ways to explore different paths before graduation? Internships and short-term employment positions are terrific ways to gain practical work experience and build skills for post-graduation employment. Undergraduate DegreesIn 2023 we had the opportunity to announce three new undergraduate Bachelor of Science degrees associated with EAS. These new degrees are designed to give students clearer pathways for their education and careers that follow. The new undergraduate degrees are: B.S. Solid Earth and Planetary Sciences (SEP) DegreeWhat is an SEP degree? The B.S. in Solid Earth and Planetary Sciences (SEP) degree is for students interested in developing mechanical and dynamic understanding of processes that control planetary behavior and are looking to apply Georgia Tech’s strengths in mathematics and computation to understand the structure, evolution, hazards, and future of planetary bodies, including Earth. B.S. Atmospheric and Oceanic Sciences (AOS) DegreeWhat is an AOS degree? The B.S. in Atmospheric and Oceanic Sciences (AOS) degree will help you to become an individual that can inform society about weather and climate impacts, including helping others mitigate and adapt to changes in the Earth’s climate. AOS allows students to explore the following: B.S. Environmental Science (ENVS) DegreeWhat is an ENVS degree? The B.S. in Environmental Science (ENVS) degree encompasses the study of natural environmental systems and the interaction of humans with these systems. It includes a strong foundation in the basic sciences, requiring core content in mathematics, physics, chemistry, biology, Earth sciences, and environmental policy. Undergraduate Courses***Please refer to the Schedule of Classes for the list of available courses by semester.*** Note that syllabi are recent examples and are subject to minor changes each semester. GT log-in required. Environmental Science MinorThis minor focuses on the scientific study of the physical, chemical, and biological conditions of the environment. It provides students with a foundation in environmental science, preparing them to address environmental challenges through an interdisciplinary lens. Pagination
