Please briefly describe your current job
I manage multiple environmental assessment remediation projects including property due diligence, brownfield redevelopment, CERCLA/Superfund sites, and RCRA hazardous waste sites.
What is your favorite part of your current position
I am able to work on a variety of environmental projects while mentoring junior staff.
How did your EAS education prepare you for your current job?
My favorite thing about EAS was the flexibility in the degree program to chart your own path of study to pursue the research that most interested me. At the time, it was shallow earth geophysics. I also appreciated the problem sets within each course that incorporated real-life environmental challenges.
The field work experience that I obtained while working with my undergraduate advisor along with the summer field camp experience at Skidaway Institute of Oceanography laid the path for my career. It helped develop my passion for field work and environmental problem solving.

What do you wish you had known as an EAS undergraduate in order to land the job of your dreams?
The power of your professional network can not be overstated. Make connections early and join and participate in professional organizations. Also, don't be afraid to lean on your academic and professional mentors for advise and references.
