Ashton Sims

Ashton Sims is a fifth-year Atmospheric and Oceanic Sciences undergraduate major pursuing a Sustainable Cities minor. Ashton is currently completing her third semester of her Co-Op with Delta Air Lines Meteorology Department. In her time at Delta, Ashton has learned the importance Meteorology plays in aviation safety and developed her computational skills to verify different forecasting products to better help in accurate forecasting. In Fall 2024, Ashton was able to participate in the National Weather Service Student Volunteer Internship where she learned valuable skills in weather balloon launches and Terminal Aerodrome Forecast (TAF) writing. Outside of her scholastic experience, Ashton was an active member (now alumni) of the Collegiate Panhellenic Council where she served as Recruitment Programming Vice President and as Secretary for her chapter, Zeta Tau Alpha. In her free time, Ashton enjoys spending time outside with her friends, going to Georgia Tech football games, and picking up new crafting hobbies. Ashton is incredibly grateful for all of her experiences at Georgia Tech and is hoping to begin a career in aviation after she graduates in May 2026.
