The course is designed for graduate and advanced undergraduate students. The goals for this course are to provide both an intuitive understanding of geomorphic processes as well as the quantitative background to predict and measure landscape change. Quantitative aspects of this course will also develop practical skills manipulating and interpreting Digital Elevation Models (DEMs) in Matlab. The course also includes an opportunity for field experience in geomorphic observation, interpretation and peer-instruction. For graduate students, this course also serves as an introduction to the geomorphology academic literature.
