Please briefly describe your current job:
I'm currently working as a solar resource modeling analyst. My key responsibilities involve performing solar resource assessments for various geographies and modeling the performance of solar and battery energy systems.
What is your favorite part of your current position:
My favorite part of my current role is using my coding skills to solve problems relating to energy and the environment.
How did your EAS education prepare you for your current job?:
I really appreciated being in a smaller major on campus. The community is tight-knit, and I found the small class sizes conducive to a positive learning environment. My exposure and practice with analytical tools helped to prepare me for a role as a data analyst, namely my exposure to Python and GIS. During my masters in EAS at Georgia Tech, I also earned a certificate in sustainable energy and environmental management. This certificate complemented my earth science background with new skillsets, context, and tools in the realm of public policy and economics.
What do you wish you had known as an EAS undergraduate in order to land the job of your dreams?:
Internships can be a phenomenal learning experience. I wish I had leveraged the Career Center more often to bolster my resume and practice interview skills.
