Please briefly describe your current job:
My dissertation is on Florida stream flow and particle transport modelling in the Everglades. I also work part-time for a small consulting firm, ASRus.
What is your favorite part of your current position:
I mostly enjoy the opportunity to work on interesting projects with great people. I also like the flexibility of being a graduate student. My flexible schedule allows me to coach high school track in the Spring.
How did your EAS education prepare you for your current job?:
The faculty in EAS were fantastic and the low student to faculty ratios created an excellent learning environment. The computer and modelling skills I learned have been very useful.
What do you wish you had known as an EAS undergraduate in order to land the job of your dreams?:
I wish I knew how important networking was. I always thought that having a great resume would be enough, but I have learned that knowing the right people will usually be more important.
